Density & Volume

Density

Density refers to the amount of hair that is used in a wig or hairpiece and how closely the hairs are stitched together. It is often measured as a percentage, with higher percentages indicating more hair and a fuller look.

  • Less than Standard Density means that the wig has fewer hairs and is lighter in weight. It is sparsely compact and less bulky, typically around 80-90% compact.
  • Standard Density (referred to as “Same as Picture” on our website) matches the density shown in the wig photo. It is light-weight, sparsely compact, and less bulky, at 100% compact.
  • Full Density has a lot of hairs, creating a fuller look. It can be slightly heavier and is recommended for those who prefer a denser look, at about 130% compact.
  • Heavy Density is even fuller, heavier, and more densely packed with hairs, creating a very full and bulky look. It is about 150% compact.

Volume

Volume refers to the perceived thickness or size of the braids in the wig, giving an idea of how thick or thin the braids will appear.

  • Micro Braid is tiny and creates a very fine, delicate look.
  • Small Braid is thinner than medium and offers a moderately thin look.
  • Medium Braid is thick but not as thick as large, providing a balanced, moderately thick appearance.
  • Large Braid is thick and gives a fuller, thicker look.
  • Jumbo Braid is the largest and thickest, providing a very full, voluminous appearance.
